Description
A good french restauration ormolu clock depicting Orpheus, the silk suspension movement contained in a well cast dolphin, surmounted by Orpheus playing his lyre, the base with high relief plaque of Orpheus aboard the Argo calming sea creatures, circa 1825. An identical clock (but lacking lyre) is in the Patimonio Nacional Madrid Catalogue no.264
